The Hungarian and Danish subsidiaries of a significant European IT development group are working on an IFRS17 solutions.

The group plays a substantial role as a supplier of banking systems in Hungary.

Using the framework of a Danish Solvency2 / standard reporting product, already on market, it develops and then offers the IFRS17 solution, which will be available throughout Europe via the group’s international network.

Borza Consulting as a partner of the project above is looking for an actuary:

 

  • For the actuarial specification and testing of the system
  • Modeling some of the issues with IFRS17 and reviewing existing models
  • Client-side implementation and support of the system.

The task can be done

  • Part-time
  • Even mostly in home office
  • Along or instead of maternality leave
  • Beside studies

Expectations

  • Logical, system thinking
  • Complex modeling in Excel
  • Basic IFRS17 knowledge or interest in measuring the performance/liability of insurers

Introduction of Gábor Borza

dr. Gábor Borza graduated from the University of Economics in 1992, received his Ph.D. in 1996 and from 2008 he is an honorary Professor at Corvinus University.

2019

  • He started his career at NN Insurance in 1992. After various actuarial and controller tasks, he was appointed in 1996 as Chief Actuary and Head of the Product Development of the, Actuarial and Controlling Department.

  • Between 1992 and 2002 he worked for ING’s (of which NN was part of) head office in Amsterdam at the holding’s insurance risks department, where he dealt with, inter alia, IAS-19 and valuation of Central European acquisitions.

  • Between 2002 and 2009 he was the head of ING Hungary Pension Fund Business Line.

  • From 2009 to 2013 he was the CFO of ING Hungary Insurance and Pension Fund Management.

  • Between 2013 and 2014 as the CEO of ING Hungary Pension Fund Servicing Company General Manager managing the exit of the pension business line

  • From 2015, he is a freelance consultant involved in financial and actuarial projects.

  • From 2016 he is the country representative and senior consultant of Tools4F. Major consulting projects: general IFRS consulting, life insurance planning and performance measurement project support. PRIIPs calculations, ALM training, market products analysis.

  • In addition to the above, as a stand-alone consultant from 2018: IFRS17 system development support, actuarial mathematical support for retirement and health insurance funds, general financial advisory fundamentally supporting CFO function on a case-by-case and regular basis, giving presentations.

  • Since 2014 he is a member of the Hungarian Actuarial Society, between 2013 and 2017 the Chairman of the Board and member of it since. In 2017 he became a member of the Pension Committee/Actuarial Association of Europe. Now it’s vice chairman.
